As a team we needed a good idea for some sound. We chose some music that related to our genre of detective. We all had different ideas but the decided on a cover of paramore's "decode". we decided on acoustic version compared to the real version because we preferred the acoustic version. it was more interesting that the normal version.
this is the song we chose.

mood board
We were asked to produce a mood board with in the group. we decided to make our mood board based on our decision of genre. we decided to do a detective so we gathered some images of stereotypical detectives, blood and some types of movies similar to our chosen idea.
audience research
We aimed out target audience at 16+ . We decided this because we could have a wide choice of film openings and also because we know what type of films our age like. We produced a questionnaire and asked as many people who were 16 and over to give their opinions on genre and what interest them in films, we got a mixed review of answers.
My Idea
We had to produce around 40 word on what our idea would be. My idea was quite simple. Mine was to have a book of photos skipping through with a family that had just been murdered. afetr the book with the titles and the murdered family, there would be a news report reporting on the murders.

codes and conventions of cloudy with a chance of meatballs
After analysing se7en we had to analyse a different film. i chose a completely different genre, a cartoon comedy/ family film. i found it rather easy to analyse due to the amount of times i have watched it but i found se7en more difficult as i havent seen that film.
codes and conventions in se7en
In our lessons we had to analyse the opening to se7en. We had to say what different codes were used in different catergories. some catergories didnt have any codes in it where as some had all three codes used in it. (technical, symbol and written codes)

The BBFC
we were set the task to produce a prezi presentation on the BBFC. Here is my prezi presentation.Mikalah's Prezi on the BBFC
Evaluation of peliminary exercise
whilst filming we tried to hard to keep the filming all at the same angles and tried to use some movement but it was harder trying to move using the tripod. If you used the movement on the tripod, the tripod would either rock or we would have trouble trying to move the camera along.
whilst trying to film it was hard becuase we would film in one place more than once and when filming there were people moving around inbetween and tryin to get the shots the same and keeping the mise-en-scene all the same was so difficult.
also whilst editing trying to keep the editing going with the wonky angles and terrible movemets of the camera was a difficult task.
in this scene the angle is different to the rest of the scenes. The camera is not straight and it makes the editing harder to join it to the next scene.
We filmed the scenes in one day so keeping the actor the same was easy but trying to keep the background alike was much harder.
In the video the sound isn't the best but that was because the sound recording on the video camera wasn't the best.
What went well was how we worked as a team and got our preliminary exercise done to a reasonable standard.
